Herald Coaster, October 31, 2001: Funeral services for Lillie Sbrusch, 89, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley, with the Rev. Father Henry Rachunek celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg. Serving as pallbearers are Joe Janecka Jr., Dennis Sbrusch, Mike Mungovan II, Larry Kainer, Charles Hollier, Larry Kunz, Frank Sbrusch Jr., and Bennie Richter Jr. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley. A rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. Lillie was born Sept. 3, 1912 and was raised on a farm near Weimar. Her parents, Edward and Josephine Anders Janecka, moved to the Beasley area in 1928. Lillie married Charlie Sbrusch May 5, 1931 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley. Lillie was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society, and S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #28 in East Bernard. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. A woman of wit, integrity, commitment to her family, service and dedication to her community and church, she served all with great love. Lillie enjoyed life and loved the outdoors. She was a homemaker all her life, always working alongside her husband at the family farm. She also enjoyed cooking. Her kitchen and pleasing others with tasty pastries gave her much pleasure. She was a friend to everyone she met and was always ready to help others. She was loved by many and leaves many loving and caring friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Josephine Anders Janecka; her husband, Charlie Sbrusch; a daughter, Bernice Sbrusch Steinocher; a brother, Rudolph Janecka; and a sister, Francis Richter. She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Sbrusch of Beasley, Ardis Sbrusch Bacak and her husband, James, of El Campo; grandsons, Brad Bacak and his wife, Crystal, of Beasley, and Jeff Steinocher of Houston; a sister, Edna Janik of Rosenberg; and a brother, Joe Janecka Sr. and his wife, Christine of Richmond; son-in-law, Edward Steinocher; extended family and caregivers, Lillie Witek and family; also Gloria Mungovan and family. The family requests donations be made in Mrs. Sbrusch's memory to St. Wenceslaus Building Fund or the American Heart Association.
