Herald Coaster, August 14, 1987: Funeral services for Charlie Walter Sbrusch, Jr., 77, of Beasley, were 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley. Father Henry C. Rachunek officiated. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Mr. Sbrusch, the former owner of Sbrusch Dirt & Gravel for more than 50 years, died Wednesday in Beasley. He was preceded in death by his mother in June 1958 and his father in March 1978. A native of Engle, Mr. Sbrusch moved to Fort Bend County in 1918. He was a member and one of the founding fathers of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley and a member of the SPJST Lodge 28 of East Bernard. He was also a past director of the Farmer's Gin in Beasley. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Sbrusch; three daughters, Delores Sbrusch of Beasley, Bernice Steinocher of Rosenberg, and Ardis Bacak of El Campo; one sister, Lillie Kainer of East Bernard; three brothers, Willie Sbrusch of Beasley, Frank Sbrusch of Aransas Pass, and Bennie Sbrusch of Rosenberg; and two grandchildren, Brad Bacak and Jeff Steinocher. The family requests that memorials be made as Mass offerings. Funeral services were under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors of Rosenberg.
