Wife: Mary Lou "Molly" BILES Birth: 9 NOV 1857 in Gasconade County, Missouri Death: 17 FEB 1923 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo Co., New Mexico _______________________ Thomas Jefferson MOORE was born August 5, 1858 in Woodland, Randolph County, Alabama to James Christopher MOORE & Martha Jane RAMPY MOORE. His parents, with their children, came to Bell County, Texas, in the spring of 1872, settling between Holland and Salado. Thomas Jefferson MOORE's father was a successful farmer and owned several hundred acres of land around and between Holland and Salado. He married Mary Lou "Molly" BILES about 1879 in Bell County, Texas. By 1910 he and his wife had moved to New Mexico where he lived in the Albuquerque area until the late 1920's. In his later years he raised rabbits and sold them to local markets and sold their pelts to others. In a letter from him to his son, Arthur Allen Moore Sr, dated 20 OCT 1926, Thomas states he has sold his house at 316 N. 15th St. for $3,600 after "hooking to city water and installing an indoor toilet." Thomas is seen living with his son, Arthur Allen MOORE Sr., in Joplin, Missouri in the 1930 Census. He died in Joplin, Missouri, and his body was shipped back to Albuquerque via the Frisco & Santa Fe Railroad for burial next to his wife. He was survived by both children at the time of his death, Arthur Allen MOORE Sr. Of Joplin, Missouri; Eric Christopher MOORE of New Mexico.
