Father: Elijah MOORE b. 19 OCT 1807 in Henry County, Virginia Mother: Barbara Jane CHEATHAM b. 20 MAY 1810 in Georgia _________________________________ James Christopher MOORE was born 8 October 1835 in Athens, Clarke County, Georgia to Elijah MOORE and Barbara Jane CHEATHAM BARBER MOORE. On 21 December 1850, James Christopher MOORE married Martha Ann Jane RAMPY in Randolph County, Alabama. James Christopher MOORE, his wife, and their seven children migrated to Bell County, Texas, in the spring of 1872, settling between Holland and Salado. Three more children were born after they came to Bell County. James Christopher MOORE had served in the Civil War for three years, enlisting on March 11, 1862, at Rock Mills, Randolph County, Alabama. He served with the 5th Battalion (calvary), Company B, with Brigadier General M.H. Chrysler commanding. After coming to Bell County, Texas, James Christopher MOORE, was a successful farmer and owned several hundred acres of land around and between Holland and Salado. His home was about five miles east of Salado, and Moore's Corner was a well-known point between the two towns. The children of James Christopher MOORE & Martha A.
