Holland, Feb 5. – Mrs Henry GOODNIGHT died here at 10 o'clock Wednesday night following a week's illness of pneumonia. Mrs GOODNIGHT'S maiden name was Mary M. MOORE. She was born Nov. 28, 1861 in Alabama, and came to Texas in 1870, where she was married to Henry GOODNIGHT on Aug. 23, 1879. She joined the Baptist church soon after her marriage. Of the nine children born to this union, seven survive. They are Elmer GOODNIGHT of Holland, Mrs. Robert PORTER of Pidcoke, Mrs. J. D. CHAFFIN of Belton, Mrs. Joe WHITSETT of Durant, Okla., Mrs. Eugine FLUCE (FLEECE) of Itasca, Owen GOODNIGHT of Holland and Chas. GOODNIGHT of Killeen. Two step-children, Mrs. Lizzie GANET of Star and Jim GOODNIGHT of Goldthwaite, also survive. Mrs. GOODNIGHT was the first of a family of nine children to die. Her brothers and sisters are Mrs. W. A. POTEET, Mrs. Tom GOODNIGHT and Monore MOORE of Holland, Mrs. Barbara JONES of Oklahoma, Letcher MOORE of New Mexico, Henry MOORE of Gatesville, Sam MOORE of Mexico and N.G. MOORE of Waco. (As in many obituary's..there are a number of errors and omissions in this one) Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist church at 4 o'clock with Rev. Ely of Belton and Rev. Carroll Jones, pastor of Holland Baptist church officiating.
