Bio
Harriet Josephine Serbus, and her twin sister, Helen Rose Serbus, were born on 21 August 1912 in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Henry P. and Mary A. (Kubesh) Serbus. As one of eleven children, Harriet was raised in Henryville Township and attended public schools in Renville County. For many years, Harriet lived and worked as an accountant for Peet Marwick and Mitchel, Certified Public Accountants, in Minneapolis. Harriet never married. Harriet Josephine Serbus died on Tuesday morning, 17 February 1970, in the Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Harriet was survived by her parents; and eight brothers and sisters. One brother and one sister preceded her in death. Harriet’s funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, 20 February 1970, in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, Minnesota; Father Ralph Hayden officiated. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Renville County, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Edward Serbus, Theodore Serbus, William Kubesh, Edward Kubesh, Milton Brandy, and Harold Ziesmer.
