Bio
Anthony Henry “Tone” Serbus was born on 15 March 1900 in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Henry P. and Mary A. (Kubesh) Serbus. Anthony, also known as “Tone” (short for Tony) followed his Dad around the farm like a puppy. He was raised in Henryville Township and attended public schools in Renville County. Anthony Henry Serbus died at the age of 85 at his home in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota, on Tuesday, 02 April 1985. Tone was survived by his brother, Peter of Kimball; and, four sisters, Beatrice Brown of Grand Rapids, Helen Mogren of Minneapolis, Marie Bergstrom of Olivia, and Dorothy Hudak of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and four sisters. The funeral service for Anthony was held on Wednesday, 03 April 1985, at 5:00 p.m., at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, Minnesota; Reverend Peter Nosbush officiated. Burial followed the next day, Thursday, 04 April, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn, Renville County, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Randy Serbus, Danny Serbus, Don Serbus, Bob Serbus, Dudley Lillesve, Joe Lillesve, Don Bergstrom, Tim Hudak, Tom Hudak, and Steve Hudak.
