Mary Alice Pringle Everheart was a daughter born to John A. & Mary Susan Overstreet Pringle and thought to have married one Jake Everheart in Dallas, TX. Alice was about age 8 when her family migrated from MS to TX. It is known that her parents, John A. & Susan Pringle and about 13 children traveled by wagon getting as far as East Texas, when many of the family contracted some illness. John A. & Susan and several children died and were buried in the wilderness, exact place unknown. The surviving 8-9 children made their way to Limestone Co. TX where family members and friends took the orphaned children in and raised each until they married and began their own families. Known surviving children in Texas were: Matthew James, Samuel Sylvester 'Ceb', William Alexander 'Bud', George Kennady, Sarah Catherine 'Katy', Mary Alice, John Wesley and Lela Pringle. In 1870 Mary Alice age 11 is living close to her cousin Isham J. Pringle, but residing with the John Rogers Family in Marlin, Falls Co. TX. John Rogers is the brother of Emma Catherine Rogers, who married George R. Pringle, another cousin. We think that Alice's husband, Jake Everheart died before 1910 because Alice is living with her step-grandson Henry Wright Everheart in Sherman, TX, but Alice is a widow. In 1920 Alice is again a widow living with her grandson on Lamar St. in Dallas, TX. Alice is not on the 1930 census and her grandson is living alone, therefore Alice must be deceased. Her husband is known to be from the Everheart's that resided in Grayson Co. since Alice is listed as owning her own farm in 1910 in Sherman, TX, but little information is definitely known.
