Herald Coaster, January 14, 1999: Funeral services for Katie Emma Gragert, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, with interment following at Immanuel Cemetery in Needville. Rev. George R. Kuebler will officiate the services. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Boulevard (FM 2218 and Highway 59) in Rosenberg. Katie was born April 6, 1910 in Needville, and she passed away Jan. 13, 1999 in Rosenberg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gragert, in July 1956; a sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Henry Nawara; and brothers, Henry Miller and Johnny Miller. She is survived by a son, Wilfred Gragert; daughters, Dorothy Jean Nordt and her husband, L.C., and Mickey "Elenora" Gragert; sisters, Olivia Tielke, Annie Harrington and her husband, Fred, Ruby Broze, and Dorothy Selig and her husband, Edgar; grandchildren, Sandy Guidry and her husband, Richard, Jo Ann Zapalac and her husband, Rick, Glen Nordt and his wife, Kathie, Dean Nordt and his wife, Stacy, David Gragert, and Amy Gragert; great-grandchildren, Jason, Grant, and Blake Guidry, Eric and Linsey Zapalac, Triston Gragert, and Erik and Corinne Nordt; a sister-in-law, Valasta Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of David-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. (281) 341-8800. ∼ Katie and Bornie F. Chumchal married on October 18, 1958 and divorced on October 27, 1976 in Matagorda County, Texas.
