Child not found: Tony Leo born 1-17-1915, died 9-26-1991, not married. ------------------------- From The Palmer Journal, Thursday, July 25, 1957, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Gregory Kowalski, 82, passed away at Fullerton early Saturday morning. He had been ailing for several years and was seriously ill the past six weeks. He was born to Anton and Josephine Kowalski on March 12, 1875 in Germany. When he was ten years old his parents immigrated to the United States, coming to the St. Libory community where they farmed. In 1897 he was married to Josie Suda of St. Libory. They farmed in Howard and Sherman counties and also lived for a time in Boone County. Three years ago both Mr. and Mrs. Kowalski moved to a rest home in Fullerton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Anna Valasek and a son, Roman, and a brother, Frank. He is survived by his wife Josie, five daughters, Mrs. Dan (Kate) Krance of St. Edwards, Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Molezyk of Alda, Mrs. Edward (Helen) Yocum of Grand Island, Mrs. Anton (Marie) Grabowski of Aurora and Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Szatka of Platte Center; five sons, Gregory of St. Libory, Walter, Anton, Harry, Joseph, all of Columbus. He is also survived by 53 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, his brother Nick of St. Paul and two sisters, Mrs. James Darenczinski of Leavenworth, Kansas and Mrs. Anton Spotanski of Loup City. ST. LIBORY - Gregory Kowallski 82, died ,at a hospital in Fulllerton Saturday after an illness of several years. He had entered the hospital only recently. Gregory Kowalski was born to Anton and Josie Kowalski March 12, 1875 in Germany. At the age of 10 his parents came to the United States and settled near St. Libory. In 1897 he was married to Josie Shuda at St. Libory. They farmed in Howard and Sherman counties and lived for a time in Boone County. Three years ago he and his wife' moved to Cedar Manor Home for the Aged in Fullerton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Anna Valasek; a son, Roman, and a brother Frank. Survivors are his wife, Josie; five daughters, Mrs. Kate Krance, St. Edward; Mrs. Dorothy Molczyk Alda, Mrs. Helen Yocum, Grand Island; Mrs. Marie Grabowski, Aurora, and Mrs. Gertrude Szatko, Platte Center; five sons, Gregory, St. Libory; Walter, Anton, Harry and Joseph, all of Columbus; 53 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and one brother, Nick, of St. Paul. The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a. m. in the Keating Mortuary in St. Paul and at 9:AM a requiem mass will be offered by the Rev. Father Andrew' Augustyn at St.. Libory Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Libory cemetery. A rosary ,will be recited tonight at 8:30 at the mortuary. Pallbearers are George Szatko, Paul Kowalski Mike Kranz, Edmund and Mike Valasek and Raymond Molczyk.
