Bio

Walter Kowalski PALMER - Walter E. Kowalski, 86, of Palmer died Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Coolidge Center in Palmer. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenway-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Libory Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tues­day with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home. Mr. Kowalski was born Sept. 28, 1908, at St. Libory to Gregory and Josie (Suida) Kowalski. At age 7, he moved with his fami­ly to Sherman County where he attended St. Francis Catholic School and Schupps Public School. He moved with his family and, farmed with them in Sherman, Howard, Greeley and Boone counties. He lived with his par­ents until 1956. He lived with his brothers in Platte and Howard counties until ill health forced him to enter the Greeley Care Home and later to the Coolidge Cen­ter in Palmer. Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Molczyk of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by five broth­ers, Gregory, Roman, Harry, Tony and Joe; and five sisters, Katherine Krance, Anna Valasek, Helen Yocum, Gertrude Szatko and Marie Grabowski.
