Lela Mae Berkenbosch Roberts was the daughter of Jacob and Lucinda Wood Berkenbosch. She was born January 17, 1894 near Monroe, Iowa. She was united marriage to Wiley Roberts of Prairie City February 16, 1916. Lela was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church. Lela died at her home in Prairie City Friday, March 23, 1979. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, parents, a brother, Gerald and a sister, Fern. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Vera) Steenhoek of Monroe, Mrs. Joe (Hazel) Tomlonovic of Newton and Mrs. Fred (Wilma) Jensma of Monroe.
