Wilma Alice Jensma was born on January 27, 1911 on the family farm west of Monroe the daughter of Jacob W. & LuCinda (Wood) Berkenbosch. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1929. On February 8, 1931, Wilma was united in marriage to Freeman C. Hendricks in Chicago, Illinois. Freeman died in 1970. On July 15, 1972 she was united in marriage to Fred Jensma in Kellogg. He died in 1992. Wilma worked as a Nurses Aid in Pella and Newton for many years and also as a cook at the Lynnville-Sully High School for four years. She was a life long resident of Jasper County and a member of the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Wilma enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting, and mostly going to the activities of her children and grandchildren. Wilma is survived by two sons, Delmar D. Hendricks of Red Hook, New York and Larry G. Hendricks and his wife Janice of Reasnor; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Hendricks of Sully; four grandchildren, Karol Vander Horst and her husband Dennis of Pella, Andrea Allen and her husband Dave of Ankeny, Todd Hendricks and his wife Susan of St. Louis, Missouri and Dustin Hendricks and his wife Emily of Grundy Center as well as seven great grandchildren, Allyson & Joshua Allen, Zachary, Nathaniel & Alexander Hendricks and Dylan & Cale Hendricks. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, Duane L. in 1997, a brother and four sisters.
