Extracted from the The Verdigre Eagle 30 Jul 1970 Obituary of Jacob Effle Jacob G. (Jake) Effle was born August 31, 1880, to Nicholas and Mary Effle in Logan Twp. in Knox County, Nebr. He died July 23, 1970 at the Creighton Care Centre at the age of 89 yrs.10 months and 22 days. He was educated in the rural schools in Nebr. He was married January 1, 1903, to Martha Boelter at the Courthouse in Center. They lived in the Walnut community five years. They homesteaded at Oelrichs, S. D. from 1980 to 1944 when they moved to Chadron, Nebr. In 1949 they moved to Creighton, Nebr., where he lived until his death. Services were conducted at St. Ludgers Catholic Church Creighton, Nebr. Pallbearers were Dr. Gordon Shupe, Willis Boelter, Delbert Boelter, Vernon Effle. Harold Effle and Walter McElhose. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five brothers & two sisters.
