The Greeley Citizen, Thursday, December 27, 1901, pg 8 Sudden Death of G. W. Jeffres. Geo. W. Jeffres died about 5 o'clock this morning, presumably of heart failure. From Frank VanHorn, who was called to go over to Mr. Jeffres' house about 2 o'clock, we learn that business troubles were worrying him, and that he frequently complained of his heart. About 3 o'clock Dr. Doyle went to the barn for a team to drive into the country, and Mr. VanHorn tried to induce Mr. Jeffres to have the doctor come and see him, but was unsuccessful. Mr. Jeffres had only yesterday sold his barn and livery business to Recd(sic) & McBeth, all transfers having been made but the insurance on the barn.
