The Columbus Daily Telegram October 1953 SILVER CREEK - Funeral services for John Siemek, 66, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Krakow. The Rev. Fr. Edward, pastgor, will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body will be taken from the Fleming Funeral Home to the Siemek brothers home in Silver Creek at 5 p.m. Wednesday to lie in state un;til the hour of service... Mr. Siemek died unexpectedly at 6:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's hospital in Columbus, where he had been a patient the past two weeks. He came to Silver Creek three weeks ago to visit relatives and friends, and was stricken here. The son of George and Katie Kula Siemek, he was born April 27, 1887, in Polk county, and most of his life was spent in Polk and Nance counties. The past nine years he had resided in Golden, Colo. Mr. Siemek, a bachelor, is survived by five brothers, Charles and Adolph of Silver Creek, Levi of Clarks, and Alois and Steve of Osceola; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Koziol, Chicago, Mrs. Helen Stanczyk of Golden, Colo., Mrs. Josephine Gembica, Central City, and Mrs. Clara Zelazny of Clarks.
