Thanks to contributor #48763187 CENTRAL CITY - Josephine G. Gembica, 77, of Central City died Saturday in a Central City hospital. Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City with Rev. Kenneth Carl officiating. Burial will be in Clarks Cemetery. Visitation hours were to have been from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Solt and Dolce Funeral Home in Central City. A rosary was to have been recited Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Gembica was born July 25, 1897, in Polk County the daughter of George and Catherine Kula Siemek she attended schools in Polk and Nance Counties. On Sept. 26, 1923, she married Frank Gembica in Polk. The couple made their home in Polk for nine years moving then to Nancy County. They later moved to a farm near Central City. Mr. Gembica died July of 1973. Survivors include one son, Leonard of Central City; one daughter, Mrs. Myron (Eleanor) Nielsen of Dannebrog; one brother, Steve Siemek of Silver Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Stanzek of Golden, Colo., and Mrs. Clara Zalazny of Monroe and six grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, six brothers and three sisters.
