Bio

L.B. Copeland, 85, died Sunday, February 3, 2002, in Pampa, Texas. Services were Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Shamrock, Texas, with Rev. Marion Frye, of Ada, Oklahoma officiating. Burial was in the Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Copeland was born October 20, 1916 in Shamrock, Texas. He had lived in Shamrock all of his life; owning Copeland Ditch Witch Service until his retirement in July 1994. He was a Deacon in the First Baptist Church of Shamrock. He married Ada Lucille Shipman on December 22, 1935, in Erick, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in October, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a son, Carroll Copeland, a granddaughter, Angel Copeland and a great grandson, Tristan Copeland. He is survived by four sons, Don Copeland of Pampa, Texas, Grant Copeland of White Deer, Texas, Johnny Copeland of Perryton, Texas and Steve Copeland of Pampa, Texas; three daughters, Nancy Wright of Mena, Arkansas, Linda Garris of Smoaks, South Carolina, and Pat Jones of Stephenville, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Garland Copeland of Manteca, California; and one sister, Bernice Ray Isaacs of Hawthorne, California.
