Bio

Walter Haynes Phillips was born 18 July 1868 in Apison, Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA, the son of William Theador Phillips (1842 - 1921) and Cynthia J. Rogers Phillips (1848 - 1930). He married Martisha [Tisha] Andrews on 14 September 1892 in Independence, Arkansas, United States. They were the parents of 4 sons: Ira, Charles, Homer and Walter Phillips. Their son Walter died in 1904 and Tisha died on 9 January 1906. Walter remarried later that same year to Lillie Thompson Pierce on 11 Nov 1906 in Independence, Arkansas, United States. Lillie had also been married before and she had 2 children by that marriage: Hiram and Elva. Walter and Lillie became the parents of seven children: James, Don, Tom, Lewis, Louis, Lois and Roxie Phillips. Walter made his living as a farmer.
