Martisha Andrews was born 1 January 1867 in Tennessee, the oldest daughter and 2nd of the 9 children born to Calvin Jones Andrews (1840 – 1909) and Cynthia Elizabeth Bowers (1844 –1916). Siblings: Edward Byron Andrews, William Henry Andrews, Georgia Andrews, Ferdinand Andrews, Ruby Andrews, Sallie Andrews, Allie Andrews and Junie Andrews. She was married to Walter Haynes Phillips on 14 September 1892 in Independence, Arkansas, United States. They were the parents of 4 sons: Ira, Charles, Homer and Walter Phillips. Their son Walter died in 1904 and Tisha died on 9 January 1906.
