El Reno Tribune, Wednesday, June 12, 2002, page 2A, El Reno, Oklahoma William "Bill" Griffin Funeral services for William "Bill" Griffin of El Reno were held Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Randel Conner officiating. Burial was in the Hinton Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Griffin died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at his home. He was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Battiest. He married Frankie Nix on April 23, 1943, in McCurtain County. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Griffin was retired from Sears after several years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, dogs, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Minnie Etta (Hogan) Griffin; his wife, Frankie Griffin, and an infant son, Billy Neal Griffin; and seven brothers, Luther, Lester, Louie, Ted, Harland, Robert and Hollis Griffin. Survivors include a son, Steven Griffin of Mexico City; three daughters, Treva Hill and husband, Glen of El Reno, Sherron Baucom and husband, Roy of Raleigh, N.C., and Marilyn Conner and husband, Randel of Tuttle. a brother, Leroy Griffin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Keith Hill and wife, Shelly, Jim Hill and wife, Andrea, Scott Hill, Brian Hill and wife, Kellie, Julie Arnold and husband, Chris, all of El Reno, Craig Baucom and wife, Debbie of Nashville, Tenn., Shannon Ashley and husband, Kevin of Raleigh, Andrea Carey and husband, Ted of Tuttle and Jill Garst and husband, Clinton of Edmond; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were June 11, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in El Reno, OK., officiating was his son-in-law Randel Conner, with a grandson talking, and a greatgranddaughter talking, also his son Steve talked. Pall Bearers were Jim Hill, Ted Carey, Brian Hill, Keith Hill and Craig Baucom.
