She was named for her paternal grandmother, Sabra Jane Bruton/Brutton Williamson County Sun , Georgetown, Texas, Nov. 12, 1920, p.9 Old Citizen Passes Away. The death of Mrs. Evan Mankin which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Flinn in Taft, Texas, on Thursday of last week, removes another of the early settlers of Williamson county. Mrs. Mankin was a daughter of Jim Williams who came to this county from Arkansas in 1849, settling on Berry's Creek a few miles north of Georgetown. She was born in Arkansas Nov. 10, 1846, and lacked but six days of being 74 years old. Deceased was married to Mr. Evan Mankin Aug. 7, 1862. To this union was thirteen children born, eleven of whom, with her husband, survive her. These are Jeff. D. of Shamrock, Texas; Lee, South Dakota; W. W., Midlothian, Texas; Tom, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. J. C. Liles, Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. J. W. Flinn, Taft, Texas; Mrs. Hubert Thomas, Duncan, Okla.; Mrs. O. B. Lee, and Miss Allie Mankin, Oklahoma City, Okla. [sic-only nine listed]. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister, Mr. Kelse Williams of Georgetown and Mr. John Williams of Coleman, Texas; Mrs. George Tackett of Dublin, Texas. Mrs. Mankin professed religion and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church in 1885. The remains were brought to Georgetown and interred in the Odd Fellows' cemetery Saturday afternoon, the Rev. E. Homer Tirey, pastor of the First Baptist church, conducting the religious exercises. The pallbearers were Messrs. Tom Williams, of Fort Worth, John and Claude Tackett of Dublin, John Howell, Emzy and Shelly Williams of Georgetown--all nephews. Those of her children who were able to attend the funeral were: Mrs. J. W. Flinn of Taft, Texas; Jeff Mankin of Shamrock, Texas; and Will of Midlothian. A large circle of friends and relatives attended the funeral and join in extending to the children the condolence and sympathy of sorrowing friends.
