The Williamson County Sun , Georgetown, Texas, Sep. 15, 1910: Death of Mrs. Chas. Purl. Mrs. Mary E. Purl, wife of Mr. Chas. H. Purl, died at her home in this city at 8 o'clock last Thursday night after three weeks' illness of typhoid fever. Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 4:30 o'clock Friday afternoon by Rev. B. B. Blalock, her pastor, and the interment was in the Odd Fellows' cemetery. The sympathy of the community with the grief stricken family was attested by the large attendance at the funeral. Mrs. Purl, whose maiden name was Mary Elizabeth Mankins, was born in this county March 12, 1885 [sic], and was, therefore, 25 years, 5 months and 18 days old. She was married January 1, 1903 to Chas. H. Purl and was the mother of four children, three boys and one girl, whose ages are 7, 5 and 2 years and 6 months, respectively. At the age of 17 years she became a member of the Baptist church, and, having gauged her life by its teachings, she was fully prepared for the great change, ready and willing to go, and died in faith and hope and peace. -------------------------
