Bio
She was the daughter of William and Catherine Neu Schmitz. '''''''' notes from family: On September 7, 1887, Grandpa and Grandma became the parents of their first daughter, Margaret, born in Carroll, Iowa known to us today as Aunt Maggie. She became the bride of Joe Bezner November 21, 1905, in Lindsay. They too, began their married life on farm north of Lindsay. On Sept. 9, 1906 they presented the first grandchild, Cecelia. They were the parents of 12 children, nine surviving today. They have 33 grandchildren, 41 greatgrandchildren, and Aunt Maggie has the honor of being the proud Grandmother of 2 great-great-grandchildren. Uncle Joe served as Cooke County Commissioner for eight years. He died in February 1944 in Lindsay. At the age of 90, Aunt Maggie is quite active, quilting and yard work, and has a beautiful garden.
