Bio
He was the son of William Schmitz and Catherine Neu. He married Anna Loerwald Jan. 14, 1908 in Lindsay, Cooke County, Texas and had 6 children. Occupation: Insurance Age at death: 75 years Notes from family: Joseph John Schmitz, the first child was born August 9, 1885 in Carroll Iowa. He had a jovial spirit and delighted in always having a funny tale to tell. On January 14, 1908, he took Anna Loerwald as his bride in Lindsay. They became the parents of three sons, three daughters, and 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Three of the children survive today. Joe spent his life in farming, real estate and life insurance. At the time of his death, January 24, 1961, he was known far and wide for his story telling, his humor, and compassion for the sick. On November 25, 1974 his beloved Anna was laid to rest by his side in the Lindsay Cemetery.
