Note from family: Henry was born in Halbur, Iowa on September 1, 1895. He is remembered for being very handsome, with his curly hair and winning personality. He was called to serve in the U.S. Army during World War I, spending most of his time in France. Shortly after the Armistice was signed, he returned home and on November 11, 1918, he married Anna Rudwaidt in Lindsay. They farmed there a short time and then moved to Grapevine, Texas where he worked as a custodian at the University Park City Hall. Uncle Henry and Aunt Annie were the parents of six daughters. Their only son, J.D., died Jan. 11, 1961. They also have 38 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Uncle Henry passed away September 1955 and is buried in Irving, Texas,- and Aunt Annie still resides there.
