note from family: Little Catherine, the last child, was born in Lindsay, July 25, 1903. With five older brothers, she was often the one to suffer from their mischievous pranks. The family delights in telling the story of how Uncle Willie offered to give her a nickel if she would eat a worm. Naturally, to a small girl a nickel was a tidy sum, so she immediately ate "the whole thing", but to her undying disappointment, he didn't have the nickel to give her. So, Aunt Katie, today you will receive that long ago earned nickel. H. S. Fuhrman courted and won Katie as his bride February 21, 1922. They, too, farmed north of Lindsay and became the parents of three sons and three daughters. They have the honor of seeing a daughter as a religious nun, and a son as a Benedictine Brother. They are the proud Grandparents of 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Tragedy too, entered their lives on July 20, 1945, when their 12 year old son, Louis, was killed in a tractor accident. Uncle Henry and Aunt Katie are at home in Lindsay staying active and attending Mass daily. She remains forever his "little Chickie".
