TXDC also lists Menard Chapel as burial location. ------------------------------ Obit below ↓ courtesy contributor: Daniel Bode #46863523: OBITUARY FROM THE POLK COUNTY ENTERPRISE, Thursday, October 27, 1960 Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Exer Walters, 73 Services were held for Mrs. Exer Walters, 73, from the Chapel of the Pace Funeral Home, Friday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Robert Walters officiated. Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery. Mrs. Walters was born December 18, 1886, the daughter of the late Radford and Missie Griffin. She spent the early part of her childhood in the Menard Chapel community and received her education in the local public school of that community. For the past 46 years she had resided in Livingston. She was married in 1905 to Henry C. Walters in Knight. To this union was born 9 children, of whom 5 survive: Mrs. Victor Lannou, Houston, Miss Sadie Walters, Livingston, Wyatt Walters, Alton Walters, and Arlie Walters, all of Houston. Other survivors include: three sisters, Mrs. Ether Eckersley, Pearland, Mrs. Emma Hilton, Houston, Mrs. Elva Collins, Segno; one brother, Boyd Griffin, Rockport, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers were: John Pevey, Robert Racki, Robert Neil Mize, Charles Walters, Dickie Walters, James Mize.
