Boyd Griffin married Flora Lee "Dalla" Collins on January 8, 1922. They were married 61 years when Boyd died in 1983. ----- OBITUARY FROM THE VICTORIA ADVOCATE, Sunday, May 8, 1983 Boyd Griffin Advocate News Service HUMBLE, Texas -- Boyd Griffin, 89, of Porter, a former Victoria resident, died Friday in a Humble hospital after a long illness He was born Jan. 27, 1894, in Knight. A veteran of World War I, he was a charter member of VFW Post No. 4146 in Victoria. He retired from Sun Oil Co. in 1959. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Humble Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Guidry Cemetery in Batson. Surviving are his wife, Flora Lee Griffin; a daughter, Boydene Pennington; a son, Charles Griffin; a sister, Emma Hilton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
