Elva Griffin married Lee Emmett Collins on March 8, 1925, in Polk County, Texas. They were the parents of one daughter, Jacqueline Lanelle Collins. ********************************************************************** OBITUARY FROM THE POLK COUNTY ENTERPRISE: Collins Services were held from the Chapel of the Pace Funeral Home on Friday September 8th, 1972, at 4 p.m. for Elva Griffin Collins, age 69, with the Rev. Johnny Dowden officiating; assisted by the Rev. H. A. Matthews. Interment followed in the Bluewater Cemetery. Mrs. Collins was born the daughter of Radford E. Griffin and Missie Smith. A native of Polk County, she was born near Bluewater and attended the public schools of the Bluewater community. In 1925, she was married to Lee Emmett Collins. Mr. Collins preceded her in death in 1971. To this union was born one child. Mrs. Collins was a devoted wife and mother. Her love and devotion to her family and many friends will be long remembered. Mrs. Collins attended the Pentecostal Church. Survivors include: One daughter, Mrs. Lanelle Roberts of Woburn, Massachusetts; 1 brother, Boyd Griffin of Porter, Texas; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ether E. Eckersley of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Emma Hilton of Porter, Texas; 3 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were R. L. Dickens, J. W. Brown, Jesse Murphy, Deke Jones, Joe Murphy, and Waymon Littles.
