Del Norte Prospector dated January 30, 1948 Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Episcopal Church here for Ruby E. Allam, 35, who passed away first of last week of a heart attack. Rev. Robert Whiting officiated. Ruby was born November 30, 1912, at Del Norte, the youngest of five children of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Allam, and she spent practically all her life in this community. She was graduated with the 1930 class from the Del Norte schools and attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, two years, then returning to Del Norte and going into business in 1934. She was a member of the Episcopal Church, secretary of the Modern of America lodge and belonged down thru the years to various young peoples’ and social and card club groups. Her life was one of industry, loyalty to friends and devotion to family. Many of the responsibilities of her late mother’s care during the past five years were shouldered by her and she performed these duties up to her mother’s death faithfully and lovingly. Worthy causes and community projects of merit had her firm support. Her judgment was sound and she met problems squarely. Her sudden death was a shock to the family that had but a few weeks previous lost their mother. Her father died in 1938. She is survived by two sisters—Mrs. E. J. Graham and Mrs. Ben L. Prosch of Chicago; two brothers, George and John. Pallbearers at the funeral were her friends: Dr. W. E. Goodrow, J. L. Adams, A.L. Larson, Robert Robran, Stanton Cook and Dallas Moody. Interment was in the Del Norte cemetery in the family plot. ~Courtesy of Rosalind Weaver
