Del Norte Prospector dated Sept. 3, 1971 George T. Allam, 68, died Tuesday at the Monte Vista hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday at Pioneer United Church with Rev. Lee Corey officiating. Creede No. 506 Elks Lodge was in charge at the cemetery. George was born May 21, 1903 in Del Norte, the eldest son of Thomas G. and Naiphie Allam. He graduated with the 1923 Del Norte High School class and attended Denver University a year. For 22 years, he and his brother, John, were partners in business. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; Creede Elks; and an ardent baseball fan. Childhood polio left George disabled and a broken hip some years ago put him on crutches. He had a stroke four years ago. He is survived by a sister, Julia Allam Prosch, Del Norte; a nephew and niece. His parents, brother, John, and sisters, Dorothy and Ruby, are deceased.
