Bio
Rachel Alford married William W. Garvin on 1 December 1888 at her parent's home between Finis community and Henry's Chapel Community in Jack County, Texas. Her husband, William W. Garvin preceded her in death on 6 November 1897. There were four children born to William and Rachel Garvin. After William passed away, Rachel lived with her son-in-law and daughter, James Powers Tackett and Willie Lee Tackett in Graham. In 1920, Rachel Garvin was living on Pecan Street according to the telephone book. Her obituary says she was the mother of three children: James Monroe Garvin Lillie M. Garvin Georgia M.
