Jacob was the son of J. L. Alford, born in Louisiana and Sarah Ann Smith, born in Texas. He married Frances Belle Gould. She preceded him in death in 1926. He is survived by 6 children: Mrs. Bern Parkinson, Graham, TX; Mrs. Ira Sefton, Pecos, NM; Mrs. Wade Boatwright; John D. Alford and Mrs. B.N. Cavis, Clayton, NM; and Miss Mary Willa Alford, Lubbock, TX.
