Aged 76 Yrs ∼ Daughter of Joshua Miner and his wife Joanna Maine. Lucy married her first cousin, Luke Miner, about 1829, probably in New York (their fathers were brothers). Lucy was the mother of 10 children: 1 - Joan Anna, born about 1830 and died 1 September 1895 in Middleton, Wilson county, Kansas. Joan married a Brown, possibly a cousin, and later married Alexander Ridlon. Mother of 4 known children. 2 - Mary Onliza Miner, born 13 Mar 1834 in New York, died 13 Mar 1900 in Monmouth, Warren county, Illinois. Married Richard Harris, Isaac Jaycox, and David Van Tassell, having six known children with her three husbands. 3 - Henry, born Nov 1836 in New York, died 1915 in Illinois. Married 3 times, to Sarah B. Hunnicutt, Eliza Hood, and Lydia Virginia Burkholder. Father of 9 children total with his first and last wives. 4 - Charles Miner, died at birth on 8 August 1837 in New York. A second son named Charles was born in Illinois during 1853. 5 - Joshua, born about 1838, died after 1902 (listed as surviving his son Lehman, who died of a train accident). Joshua's wife Mary died of complications of surgery in 1898, with 3 known children. 6 - Rebecca Jane, born about 1839 in New York, died 14 Feb 1890 in Warren county, Illinois. She married William C. Ferrington, and later divorced. Mother of Hugh Marshall Ferrington. 7 - Samuel, born 15 Aug 1843 in New York, died 14 Sep 1863 in St. Louis, Missouri. He had been captured during the Civil War, and contracted a disease in a prison camp which resulted in his death. He had been released and headed home when his death occurred. 8 - Erastus, born about 1846 in New York, and preceded his father in death. Last known record shows him living at home in the 1860 census, age 14. 9 - Lafayette, born Jan 1849 in New York, died 1928 in Burwell, Garfield county, Nebraska. Married Clara, father of one child. 10 - Charles, born 1853 in Floyd township, Warren county, Illinois, and died at the Watertown State Hospital (now East Moline), Rock Island county, Illinois. Charlie was placed there after the death of his parents, and listed as "simple minded". He was the second son named Charles by his parents.
