Services Held For Mrs. Julia Fajkus Mrs. Louis V. Fajkus, nee Juliana Nikel, a life-long resident of the Praha-Flatonia community, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1974, at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 5 days. Mrs. Fajkus was in failing health and bed-ridden after she suffered a stroke several months ago. Following her release from the hospital, she spent the remaining days with her son and daughter-in-law near Flatonia. She was born May 15, 1892, at Praha, Texas, daughter of Peter and Agnes (Korbel) Nikel. She was married at Praha Church on Nov. 9, 1909, to Louis V. Fajkus, and resided in this community during all of her lifetime. She was a member of the Catholic Church and the K.J.Z.T. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Msgr. Edmund Bily and Rev. Anthony Matula officiating. Interment was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at Flatonia. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Earl, Gary, Billy Joe, Herbert and Danny Fajkus, Vencil and Ted Banik, Jr. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis V. Fajkus, Feb. 19, 1974; one son, Julius Fajkus, and an infant daughter. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Theresa Fajkus of Flatonia and Mrs. Ted (Angie) Banik of Crosby; four sons, Alfons Fajkus of Kyle, Vencil Fajkus of Cistern, Bill Fajkus of Houston, and Emil Fajkus of Flatonia; four sisters, Caroline Vana, Agnes Baca of Flatonia, Lillie Beck of Houston and Rose Barta (deceased) and four brothers, Rudy Nikel of Flatonia, Pete Nikel of Schulenburg, Adolf Nikel of Houston and Vencil Nikel; also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
