Bio
Flatonia – Louis V. Fajkus, a life-long resident of the Flatonia community, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 1974 attaining the age of 86 years and 21 days. Funeral services were held Friday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Flatonia, with Rev. Anthony Matula and Msgr. Edmund Bily officiating. Interment was in Flatonia Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons, Theodore A. Banik, James H., Gary L., Earl E., Billy Joe and Michael Fajkus. Mr. Fajkus was born near Praha, Texas, January 28, 1888, son of the late Peter and Jo Ann (Kocian) Fajkus. He was married to the former Julia Nikel on November 9, 1909. He was a member of Flatonia Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the KJT Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louis (Julia) Fajkus of Flatonia; two daughters, Theresa of Flatonia, and Angelina Banik of Crosby; four sons, Vancel and William Fajkus, both of Houston, Alfons Fajkus of Kyle, Emil Fajkus of Flatonia; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lillie; son, Julius, and four brothers, Peter Fajkus, January 27, 1963; Joe, Frank and Jim Fajkus. Shiner Gazette, Thursday, March 21, 1974
