Funeral Of Pete Nikel Held Here Wednesday Funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart Church at 9:00 o'clock Wednesday morning, January 10th, for Mr. Pete Nikel, 83, who passed away at the family home north of town Tuesday morning. Rev. J.A. Pustka officiated at the church, and at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, where interment was made. Pallbearers were six grandsons of the deceased. Born in Europe, Mr. Nikel came to America and settled with his parents in Fayette County as a small boy. He was married to Miss Agnes Korbel, and to this union ten children were born. One daughter preceded her father in death as a small girl. He is survived by his widow; fours sons, Rudy and Adolph of Flatonia and Pete and Jim of Schulenburg; five daughters, Mrs. Carrie Vana, Mrs. Julia Fajkus, Mrs. Rosie Barta, and Mrs. Agnes Baca, all of Flatonia and Mrs. Lillie Beck of Houston; and 24 grandchildren. P.A. Nikel of LaGrange is a nephew of the deceased. Mr. Nikel was a prominent farmer of this section for many years, and has many friends with whom the Argus joins in extending its sincerest sympathy to the sorrowing survivors.
