Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Tidwell Community Cemetery. She died Sunday in Richland Hills Nursing Home at the age of 90. A resident of Hurst, she was born in White Rock to Willie Franklin and Dora Bolton Shields. Mrs. Turner was a salesperson at Meyers Department Store for 17 years, owner of two restaurants in Long Beach, Calif., and was member of IDKDY Social Club. She was a member of Wesley Sunday school class, Wednesday Bible class and member of First Methodist Church of Hurst. Surviving are a daughter, Juanita Henderson of Hurst; three brothers, Wayne Shields of Hurst, Weldon Shields and Guy Shields, both of Greenville; two sisters, Bernice Shields of Celeste and Stella Blaylock of Atlanta; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Bryant Gay; and her second husband, Clarence Turner. Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) - Tuesday, November 24, 1992 Deceased Name: Opal E. Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today in Tidwell Community Cemetery in Greenville. Mrs. Turner was born in White Rock and lived in Hurst for 27 years. She was a former resident of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Turner was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hurst, the Wesley Sunday School Class and the Wednesday Bible class. Survivors: Daughter, Juanita Henderson of Hurst; three brothers, Wayne Shields of Hurst and Weldon Shields and Guy Shields, both of Greenville; two sisters, Bernice Green of Celeste and Stella Blaylock of Atlanta; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
