Bio

ENGLISH Frances English, 92, of 3134 Green Street, died Saturday in a local nursing home. She was born on February 2, 1883, in Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States as an infant. She was reared and educated in Granger, Texas before coming to Corpus Christi in 1918. In 1919 she married the late Rudolph English who owned and operated the English Bakery until his death in 1934. She operated the bakery after her husband's death until 1942. She was a member of K.J.Z.T. Lodge No. 46, the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 79, Ss. Cyril E Methodius Church and the Order of St. Frances. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. J. (Elizabeth) Veselka, Corpus Christi; two sons, Fred English, Castorville, Texas and William English, Kent, Washington; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kocurek, Corpus Christi, Mrs. Annie Chasak, Granger, Texas, and Mrs. Julie Kaderka, Bartlett, Texas; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at Ss. Cyril E Methodius Church. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Kaspar, Mike Kaspar, Eugene Kocurek, J. B.
