THE GETTYSBURG TIMES March 13, 1976 Bernard V Kuykendall, 63, Gettysburg R1, died Friday afternoon at 2:30 in the Chambersburg Hospital. He had been a patient there since last Monday. A native of Moorefield, W. Va., he was a son of the late Oliver J and Charity Pope Kuykendall, and had been a dock worker in New Orleans for a number of years before moving to this area. A veteran of World War II service in the US Army, he was a member of the Fairfield Amvets, the Eagles lodge here, and the Mt. Holly Fish and Game Association. His wife, Margaret Kuykendall, died in 1971. Surviving are the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. Kathleen Arentz, Gettysburg R3; Roy H Kuykendall Gettysburg R1, with whom he had resided; Mrs. Pauline Killinger, Dundee, Fla.; Mrs. Sarah C Harris, Westminster, and James J Kuykendall, Somerset, N.J., and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 from the Monahan Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with Rev. Donald D Powers, pastor of the Gettysburg Foursquare Gospel Church officiating. Interment will be in the Mummasburg Cemetery.
