Bio

The Gettysburg Times March 23, 1959 Oliver J Kuykendall, 75, died Sunday morning at 2:30 at his home, Gettysburg R2, following an illness from a heart condition. He leaves 130 survivors. A native of Moorefield, W. Va., he was a son of the late Seymor and Susan Catherine Baldwin Kuykendall. He moved to Adams County in 1923, and was a retired farmer and a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church here. His first wife, the former Charity Pope Kuykendall, died April 7, 1944. His second wife, Susan Riggelman Kuykendall, survives. Also surviving are 13 children to his first wife; Mrs. Seymor J Bobo, Fairfield; Robert K., Columbus, Ohio; Bernared, New Orleans, Louisiana; Roy, Gettysburg R1; Mrs. Pauline Killinger, Mt. Holly Springs; Oliver, Carlisle RD; Carl, Dover, Pa.; Herman, Columbus, Ohio; Charles, Lewistown; Blaine, Iron Springs; Mrs. Sara Riggleman, Mt. Holly Springs; Earl, Mt. Holly Springs, and James, Boundbrook, N.J. There are three stepsons, Lemuel Pratt, Moorefield, W. Va.; Daily Pratt, Moorefield, W. Va., and Clyde, Columbus, Ohio; 57 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and five brothers and sisters; Isaac S., Gettysburg RD; Mrs. Lucy May Baldwin, Gettysburg; Mrs. Bessie Virginia Roby, Osage, Iowa; Joseph G., Georgetown, Ill., and William B., Osage, Iowa. Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at the Foursquare Gospel Church, W. Middle St., with the Rev. Harold Myers and the Rev. Harold Myers and the Rev. Foster Group officiating. Interment in the Mummasburg Cemetery.
