Bio

Hillsboro Evening Mirror Tuesday, May 25 1948 Sgt. James R. Shelley Members of Company L. Hillsboro National Guard will serve as a military escort and the Whitney Post of the American Legion, will furnish pallbearers for the funeral at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Whitney for Sgt. James R. Shelley, 23. Reburial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery. Sgt. Shelley lost his life in France Oct. 22, 1944. The body was brought to the Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from Fort Worth Army Quartermaster Depot and will remain until the hour of the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Shelley of Whitney are the parents of the late soldier.
