Bettye Simpson Ryno, 75, of Whitney, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Goodall Witcher nursing facility in Clifton, with her loving daughter, Renee Fossett, and beloved nieces, Glenda Braud and Rita Zimmerman, by her side. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Pastor Bob officiating. Bettye was the daughter of James Perry and Marnie Adeline (Ivy) Shelley. She grew up in Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School. Bettye was married to Wilburn Earl Simpson Sr. and then later married Herschel Ryno. She worked for Walls Manufacturing, Bush's Grocery and Whitney ISD. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilburn Simpson, Sr.; and an infant son, Wilburn Earl Simpson, Jr.; brothers, James Shelley, Darrell Shelley and W.A. Shelley; and sister, Oma Dell Shelley. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Fossett and her husband, Loyd, of Clifton; brother, James Perry Shelley, Jr. and his wife, Jackie, of Whitney; sister, Adeline Bush, of Whitney; and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
