Franklin Fleming HOULKA – Franklin Russell Fleming, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Pontotoc. He was a loving husband and father, and a proud grandfather. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening and selling produce, and his dogs. A great person with a great sense of humor, he was a generous and loving person who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Kevin Purdon and Bro. Tommy Inmon officiating. Burial will be in Cooke Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include Linda Gillespie and Jack of Houlka, Diane Brown and Glenn of Horn Lake, and Arnell Fleming and Lois of Houlka; nine grandchildren, Marty and Tammy Gillespie, Tammy and J.C. Aaron, Beverly and Brad Butler, Jackie and Samantha Gillespie, Sandy and Noel Haynes, Shelly and Brad Harrison, Steven Brown, John and Kelly Fleming, and Jenifer Fleming; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maedell Galloway Fleming; and three brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers will be Steven Brown, John Fleming, Marty Gillespie, Jackie Gillespie, Noel Haynes, Brad Harrison, Brad Butler and J.C. Aaron. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
