Mattie Leen McElroy 80, quilter MOULTON -- Funeral for Mattie Leen McElroy, 80, of Moulton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Cave Springs Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Strickland and the Rev. Jackie Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Mrs. McElroy died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at National Health Care in Moulton. She was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Lawrence County to Joe and Lenna Fleming. She was a homemaker, a quilter and a member of Cave Springs Freewill Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lyndon McElroy and the mother of the late Jimmy McElroy. She is survived by six sons, Hayward McElroy and Johnny McElroy, both of Decatur, Bobby McElroy and Kenneth McElroy, both of Hatton, and Avery McElroy and Ronnie McElroy, both of Moutlon; two daughters, Joyce Terry and Gail Campbell, both of Hatton; three brothers, Franklin Fleming of Houlka, Miss., Orman Fleming of Phil Campbell and Hershel Fleming of Russellville; one sister, Katherine Scifa of Duvall Bluff, Ark.; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
