Funeral services for Ollie Earl Lankford, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Randy Henry, pastor will officiate and burial will be in the Olympus Cemetery by the Newberry Funeral Home. Mr. Lankford was born September 8, 1895, in McMullen County and came to Childress in 1919 from Keene, Texas.He was a retired farmer.He and Edna Frances Beningfield were married here January 20, 1925. Survivors include his wife, three sons, Granville of Austin; Durl and Lynn of Childress; two daughters, Mrs. J.D. Elliott of Northfield and Stella Lankford of Canadian; five sisters, Mrs. W.I. Barolay of Hemet, California; Mrs. Lillie LaFon of Glenwood, California; Mrs. Eileen Johnson of Norwalk, California; Mrs. Reeda Fletcher of Dinuba, California; Mrs. Dick McGarock of Los Angeles; one brother, Erving of Keys, California, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
