Ervin J. Lankford Final rites for Ervin Joe Lankford, 80, who died Wednesday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness, will be at 4 p.m. today in the Franklin & Downs-Ceres Chapel. Committal will be private. A native of Texas, Lankford lived in this area 30 years and was a retired agricultural worker. He belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ceres. He was the father of Bobby Joe and Alfred James Lankford and Nora C. Luse, all of Modesto, Franklin Lankford of Ceres, Marvin Lankford of Burney and Jackie Lankford of Keyes. Other survivors include five sisters, one brother, 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
