Bio

CANADIAN - Harold "Shorty" Lankford, 94, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Les Hall of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Lankford moved to Canadian in 1964 from Bridgeport. He was a roughneck in the oilfields. Survivors include his wife, Stella; two sons, Tony Pierce of Fort Worth and Stanley Lankford of Canadian; four daughters, Melba Sorrell and Loretta Rogers of Pampa, Carol Bentley of Portland, Ore., and Marie Sims of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
