Herald Coaster, January 27, 1997: Funeral services for Emma Sophie Tielke, 96, of Needville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX. Officiating the service will be Rev. George Kuebler. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Tielke died on Friday, Jan. 24, 1977 at the SPJST Rest Home in Needville. She was born June 25, 1900 in Washington, TX. Her parents were Henry and Louise Wieghat. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. She married Alvin F. Tielke Sr. on Oct. 26, 1922. They were married almost 65 and a half years when he passed away in 1988. She is survived by four sons: Bernie W. Tielke and Elton F. Tielke of Houston, Alvin F. Tielke Jr. of Sugar Land and Woodrow Wieghat of Waco; a daughter, Eileen Alaminsky of Sugar Land; a sister, Lydia Randermann of Beasley; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ Building Fund. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Needville, TX. Services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors, Inc. of 3103 School Street in Needville, (409) 793-4515.
